Welcome to Rick's Sugar Bush & Supply. In
1993, Rick purchased a 25 acre parcel. All but 1 1/2 acres of the parcel is wooded, and
predominately maple. Rick had no background or family history in sugaring, but decided to
try it when his father looked at the property and suggested the idea of making maple
syrup. That first year (1994) Rick had 50 taps and made 13 gallons of syrup on a homemade evaporator. In 1997, he became a member of the Michigan Maple Syrup Association. Rick's Sugar Bush and Supply is a family owned and operated business. The Peters family, Rick, His wife Karen, and two daughters, Kelsey and Peyton run a modern 2,000 tap operation with the help of his parents Glen and Lorraine Peters, and brother Ben. Rick is also an equipment dealer for Dominion and Grimm maple sugaring equipment. He is also an active member if Michigan Maple Sugar Association.
